The 1856 Society

The 1856 Society was established to recognize and celebrate the Lenox Library’s key benefactors. Donors who annually contribute at the $1,000 level or higher are automatically 1856 Society members. By supporting the library at this level, you are sustaining the Lenox Library Association’s belief that free access to information and ideas is fundamental to a vibrant community. By providing early literacy programming, art exhibits, lectures, access to our local history archives and more, The Lenox Library plays a vital role in shaping tomorrow’s community leaders.

You can donate using our secure PayPal account or by printing and mailing our donation form. Recurring payment options are available.

For additional information regarding the Lenox Library Association’s 1856 Society, please call Amy Lafave, the Jim Chervenak Library Director at 413-637-2630 ext. 115 or e-mail alafave@lenoxlib.org

Personnel Fund

The Lenox Library Association is offering a donating opportunity in support of its most important asset: its librarians. Librarians are the professional staff members who lend their training and expertise to choosing, organizing, and displaying materials; creating programs and exhibits; preserving fragile archival documents; and teaching and interacting with the public every day. With a masters degree or a commensurate level of experience, librarians combine a heart for personal service with a wealth of knowledge about library standards along with an understanding of the needs of patrons in the Lenox community.

A gift at any level, designated to the Lenox Library Personnel Fund, would help support the salaries of the library staff. A larger gift, at a minimum of $15,000 for one year, $12,000 annually for three consecutive years (totaling $36,000), or $10,000 annually for each of five consecutive years (totaling $50,000) would allow the donor to name a salaried position after one’s self or in honor of a loved one.

For additional information regarding Personnel Fund gifts and the associated naming opportunity, please call Amy Lafave, the Jim Chervenak Library Director at 413-637-2630 ext. 115 or e-mail alafave@lenoxlib.org

Honor and Memorial Gifts

Honor and memorial gifts to the Lenox Library are a special way to pay tribute to a loved one or to celebrate a birthday, special event or anniversary. Honor and memorial gifts are a meaningful way to acknowledge those who are important to us while also supporting the Lenox Library. For those who would like to make a major gift, $1,000 or more would allow the donor to name part of the library or one of its collections after the honoree.

To make a gift, you can donate online using our secure PayPal account or by completing the Honor and Memorial gift form and send it along with your contribution to:
