Rise Together for Safety & Justice

Please join the Lenox Library and Lenox Community Center in supporting Elizabeth Freeman Center and their Rise Together campaign by walking with us on Thursday, September 18 at 5:30 p.m.  The walk will begin in Roche Reading Park, located right next to the Library.

Every hour of every day, Elizabeth Freeman Center provides life-saving, life-renewing help to survivors of domestic and sexual violence and their families.  At Lenox Library, we adhere to the American Library Association’s Code of Ethics, which “affirm[s] the inherent dignity and rights of every person. We work to…advance racial and social justice in our libraries, communities, profession, and associations through awareness, advocacy, education, collaboration, services, and allocation of resources and spaces.”

Violence is a community problem and together we are part of a community movement to end domestic, sexual, and dating violence.  Whoever we are, however we look, wherever we go – we all deserve safety and justice.
