SUMMARY:What Your Mother Didn’t Tell You: Real Talk About Perimenopause & Menopause
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an engaging talk on perimenopause and menopause—the often-overlooked transition that marks a new phase of life. Unlike puberty\, it’s a time many women face with little preparation or support. We’ll break the silence\, discuss the real changes\, and explore how to embrace this transition for a healthier\, empowered future. \nChildcare will be available during this program.  Please call the Library at 413-637-0197 or email info@lenoxlib.org to register for childcare only.  Registration is not required to attend the program. \n\nAbout our presenter: Molly Rivest\, DNP\, FNP is a doctorally prepared Family Nurse Practitioner with extensive expertise in women’s health. She is the founder of BodyWise Health Collaborative\, a private practice located in Pittsfield\, where she provides compassionate\, evidence-based care for women of all ages. Her practice is grounded in a patient-centered philosophy that respects and elevates each individual’s innate understanding of their own body. \nMolly specializes in addressing sensitive and frequently overlooked areas of care\, including sexual health\, contraceptive management\, perimenopausal care\, and pelvic floor dysfunction. She fosters a supportive and stigma-free environment\, ensuring that patients feel safe discussing even the most complex or taboo health concerns. \nBefore founding BodyWise\, Molly delivered women’s healthcare at CHP Barrington OB/GYN and served as a primary care provider at UMass Hahnemann Family Health. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the UMass Tan Chingfen Graduate School of Nursing and holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from Smith College. \nMolly’s dedication to women’s health is deeply influenced by her earlier career as an officer in the United States Air Force\, where she conducted laser eye protection research and served as a victim advocate for survivors of sexual assault. These formative experiences strengthened her commitment to creating environments of safety\, trust\, and empowerment—principles that remain foundational to her clinical practice today.

SUMMARY:Free for All: The Public Library Screening
DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday\, May 21\, 2025 at 5:00 p.m.\, join us for a shortened\, preview screening and community-driven conversation of INDEPENDENT LENS’ Free for All: The Public Library\, a documentary film that tells the story of the quiet revolutionaries who created a civic institution where everything is free and the doors are open to all. \nThe public library is one of America’s most valued yet endangered institutions.  Director Dawn Logsdon travels the United States\, discovering historic and modern-day figures\, especially women\, who contributed to the library’s integral position within democracy. Free for All: The Public Library chronicles the evolution of the nation’s public libraries\, tracing the battles over who can enter\, what belongs there\, and who makes these decisions\, while exploring how public commons are defined and defended. \nAfter the screening\, Lenox Library Director Katie O’Neil will be joined by members of the Library’s Board of Trustees to host an engaging and interactive discussion about how public libraries shaped the country and continue to be a sanctuary for Americans everywhere\, despite the threats to funding the civic institution has faced in recent years.  \nFree for All: The Public Library will debut on April 29\, 2025\, at 10:00 p.m. ET on PBS and the PBS app (check local listings).  \n \nAbout Indie Lenox Pop-Up\nIndie Lens Pop-Up is a community series that brings people together for film screenings and conversations.
