Make your own zine and read comics with library friend, Joey Chernila! Get inspired by reading comics and then create your own one-page zine about the library, your favorite book, or any other topic you would like. Copies of your creations will be made and displayed at the Library in honor of National Library Week. Receive copies of fellow participants’ zines and keep your own as well! Snacks will be provided. For ages 6-12.

Joey Chernila is the Coordinator of Integrated Learning at the Montessori School of the Berkshires (MSB), located in Lenox. He received a B.A. in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College in Santa Fe, NM, and has been working in early childhood in the Berkshires since 2003. Joey particularly relishes exploring the visual arts and picture books with our early childhood students. His at-home interests include cardmaking, papercrafts, and silkscreening, as well as spending time with his wife and two children, who are both MSB graduates. Joey also has fond memories of his time in Montessori when he was a young student. Joey can often be found at looking for children’s books at tag sales around the county.
