A note from the Director:

I’m excited to draw attention to some special programs that will take place at the Library in the coming months. Lenox Library will participate in the American Library Association’s national “Reader. Voter. Ready.” campaign, the goal of which is to ensure communities are registered, informed, and ready to vote for federal, state, and local elections in 2024 and beyond.

Local History Librarian Amy Lafave kicked off our efforts with this video – posted on our YouTube channel and social media on August 16 – with Town Clerk Kerry Sullivan discussing what citizens needed to know to register and vote in the state primary on September 3.

We’ll host a series of events for all ages leading up to the general election, from a program on ballot questions to a make your own VOTE sign craft. All events are non-partisan and intended to encourage everyone in our community to participate in our democracy. Click HERE to see what events will be featured this month and stay tuned for more as we make our way to November!

We hosted a program with the League of Women Voters to review the November 2024 Massachusetts ballot questions, presented by Lucy Kennedy. See her slide presentation HERE for a comprehensive breakdown.
