wallyswistThe Lenox Library Association is pleased to announce that the next Distinguished Lecture Series‘ Event will be this Sunday, January 17th, at 4:00 pm. The lecturers will be poet Wally Swist and filmmaker Elizabeth Wilda.

Wally Swist’s poems have appeared widely in such publications as The Yale Literary Magazine and Yankee Magazine’s 60th Anniversary Issue.  His books include The New Life, selected by Small Press Distribution as one of the top thirty bestselling books of poetry, and Mount Toby Poems, issued in a letterpress limited edition last year.  He will read from his work.

Filmmaker Elizabeth Wilda will screen a short biographical documentary film about Swist and his poems, In Praise of the Earth.  Many films that Wilda has written and produced are currently in educational distribution and broadcast on American Public Television.  They include a film about the political work of Theodor (“Dr. Seuss”) Geisel and a film about the impact of the work of Catholic nuns on American society.

Admission to this lecture is FREE and open to all; reservations are not required. Lectures are held in the Sedgwick Reading Room of the Lenox Library at 18 Main Street, Lenox, MA.
