We are pleased to continue the Distinguished Lecture Series, now in its 18th season.  On Sunday, January 26, 2025 at 4:00 p.m., Tom Bernard, President and CEO of the Berkshire United Way will discuss his organization’s 100th Anniversary.

Raised and educated in North Adams, Tom earned his bachelor’s degree from Williams College and later his Master of Public Administration from Westfield State University.  After a decade working in Boston and then as a freelance writer, he began a long career in the nonprofit sector.  Tom first served as development officer at Mass MoCA, followed by nearly 10 years at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts as director of corporate, foundation, and government relations, then executive assistant to the president, and eventually director of business affairs. He was the director of special projects at Smith College before serving as mayor of North Adams from 2018 to 2022.

The Distinguished Lecture Series is organized and hosted by Dr. Jeremy Yudkin. Dr. Yudkin is a resident of the Berkshires and Professor of Music and Co-Director of the Center for Beethoven Research at Boston University. Every summer he presents the Lenox Library’s pre-concert lectures for the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s Tanglewood season.
