Just past the wrought iron gate which fronted the Interlaken estate rests a boulder commemorating the tavern location of Captain Charles Dibble. Dibble and his militia companions were training to be ready at a minute’s notice when news arrived in Lenox on April 21, 1775 that the British were on their way to Lexington. Over 30 men from Lenox were part of Colonel John Paterson’s regiment who marched for Boston 18 hours later. Join Local History Librarian Amy Lafave to learn more about these men and their efforts in the fight for American liberty, 250 years ago.
