We may have to be socially distant for this year’s Halloween, but virtually we still can be together!
The Lenox Library and Lenox Community Center (LCC) are teaming up to hold a Virtual Halloween Costume Contest on October 30 & 31, 2020.
Categories
- Youth (under 18)
- Family/Group (A group of people either submitting one photo of their group, or submitting separate photos with a note that it is a part of a group entry along with a name for their group. Please use a group name such as “Smith Party of 5” or “Jones Party of 2”)
General rules and regulations
All contestants 13 years of age and under must have their parent or guardian’s permission to enter and must be accompanied by them in their picture (in or out of costume).
Photos of contestant submissions and category winners will be shared by the Lenox Library and LCC on our Facebook pages.
To enter, follow these simple steps:
- Take a picture of yourself or your group in costume. (If submitting separate photos for a group, please include a note with each photo that it is a part of a group entry along with the name for your group.)
- Post your picture on the pinned post at the top of one of our Facebook pages with your

- the hashtags #LenoxLibrary, #LCC, and #Halloween2020

OR email your photo to info@lenoxlib.org with your category and we’ll post the picture for you.
The contest starts at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30 closes at 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2020. After that time, you are welcome to post more pictures on the pages using the hashtags mentioned above, but they will not be considered for judging.
Judges will vote and winners will be announced November 2. Prizes will be gift certificates to downtown Lenox businesses; details to follow. Many thanks to the Lenox Library Association for sponsoring our prizes!
The fine print: By posting to the above-mentioned threads and/or using the above-mentioned hashtags, you are giving the Lenox Library and LCC permission to re-share photos to our social media channels and re-publish them on our websites.
All participants must exhibit good conduct at all times. Rude behavior and offensive remarks or insults (online or in person) toward staff, judges, or other contestants will not be tolerated and may be considered grounds for disqualification from current and future contests.
This is a family friendly event (think movie ratings G and PG). No nudity, obscene gore, sexuality, or cultural insensitivity will be allowed.
The judges reserve the right to disqualify anyone from competition for any reason.
FAQ
Q) Can my friend post a picture for me with their Facebook account?
A)Yes, just make sure they include your category and the appropriate hashtags.
Q) What if I don’t have Facebook and don’t have any friends with Facebook?
A) E-mail your photo to info@lenoxlib.org, and we’ll share it through our Facebook for you.
Q)What if I have a question that’s not covered here?
A) Email info@lenoxlib.org, and we’ll do our best to answer it.
