It’s not too late to sign up for the summer reading program! Starship Adventurers, visit our library weekly and:

  1. Stamp a star on your captain’s log and earn a raffle ticket for each hour that you read. Complete your captain’s log by just reading 30 minutes on average a day, earn stellar prizes and we’ll even make you a library star!
  2. Be a community star! For every 5 hours you read, an item of food will be donated to our local food pantry in your name. This program is generously co-sponsored by Loeb’s Foodtown of Lenox. Thank-you, Loeb’s!
  3. Join our Planet-of-the-Week Quest! Find one fascinating fact about our planet of the week and you might win a planet of your own! For inspiration, see our terrific new titles on outer space in our window display.
  4. Make a Martian! Ask at our youth desk for everything necessary to create a Martian. Take a picture of it having fun with you on your travels near and far this summer, email your photo to us and see it online at our statewide Martian in Massachusetts site.
  5. Enjoy our out-of-this-world special events on Thursdays (see our calendar of special youth events).
  6. Check out our reading lists of new titles and Massachusetts Children’s Book Award winners.
  7. Hunt for our friendly alien mascot, Skoob, find it and we’ll give you a surprise!
  8. Join us at our ice cream social on Tuesday, August 18, where all Starship Adventurers will win reading awards.

Keep reading! All Starship Adventurers collectively have read over 200 hours thus far.  With your reading fuel, watch our reading rocket reach the moon!
